Listening to a plant-based podcast has helped me to keep motivation around my plant-based lifestyle as a beginner. Are you an avid podcast listener or do you think finding some podcasts focusing on a healthy, plant-based way of eating would benefit you? If so, you’re in luck! Struggling to find motivation for why to continue your healthy plant-based lifestyle doesn’t have to be difficult.
Podcasts can be a busy woman’s best motivator! They are easy-to-listen-to as you are out for a walk, or while watching your child’s sports games. Moreover, doing laundry and other tasks around the home are less of a bore while listening. Not to mention they will give you little gems of wisdom to keep and take with you on your journey!

Health and Wellness Podcasts:
- First: The Exam Room Podcast- Hosted by the Weight-loss champion, Chuck Carroll. This podcast regularly features physicians from all different areas of specialty. They answer so many questions that listeners send in, and offer many invaluable tips.
- No Meat Athlete Radio, hosted by Matt Frazier, who authored the book No Meat Athlete, and looks at plant-based nutrition, running tips, changing your habits, and more. A great resource for those who are into fitness and wish to have a healthier diet to add to their success.
- Next, Heart Doc VIP- Hosted by Cardiologist Joel Kahn, who is also the author of the book The Plant-Based Solution. He takes a look at mind, body, and spiritual wellness. By utilizing both eastern and western medicine he keeps his patients “looking better, feeling better and living better”. He speaks to leaders in the food and wellness movement to teach his listeners how to take action to make their wellness a priority.
- Subsequently, The Plant Proof Podcast- Hosted by Simon Hill who is a nutritionist, and author of the book The Proof is in the Plants. Listening to his Aussie accent is refreshing as you learn the latest science in an easy-to-understand format that keeps you coming back for more.
- Finally, The Plant-Centered and Thriving Podcast, hosted by Ashley Kitchens is new on the scene of plant-based podcasts. Ashley’s name is SO perfect for a registered dietician nutritionist who was raised on an Angus cattle farm and through her own journey to health is on a mission to inspire others to adopt a plant-based diet that is healthy and healing.
Navigating Vegan Lifestyle Podcasts:
- Food for Thought- hosted by Colleen Patrick-Goudreau, author of eight books, and who has a compassionate living philosophy that is so inspiring. Her positive way of looking at the world is one I very much appreciated when I initially went vegan. I was disgusted at the ways humans use animals while harming the environment at the same time. She helped pull me out of the darkness that I felt after learning the truth about how terribly animals are treated by industries.
- Food Heals Podcast- Hosted by Allison Mellody author of the book Food Heals, Physical, Emotional, and Spiritual Stories to Nourish your Soul and Transform your Health. Her podcast is recognized as “Sex and the City for Food”. She looks at the healing power of food, benefits of a plant-based diet and natural health and beauty products, and so much more! Allison reveals the “secrets to being a hotter, healthier, happier you”.
- Next, Plant-Strong Podcast- Hosted by Rip Esselstyn, author of the Engine 2 Diet. The first season follows a firefighter who has made the decision to become plant-based as he forges a new path towards health. Next, season two is focused on “the heart of a hero” and looks at those who have had a large impact in pushing the plant-based movement forward.
- Then, Ordinary Vegan- Hosted by Nancy Montuori, this podcast focuses on many different aspects of a vegan lifestyle. From food and cooking, nutrition, and being kind to animals as well as the planet.
- Last but not least, Plant-Powered People Podcast- hosted by Michelle Cehn and Toni Okamoto from Plant-Based on a Budget. They help you overcome challenges of being a vegan, such as hosting a vegan wedding, to successfully handling college life as a vegan. Making vegan eating more mainstream and less hoity-toity is all in a day’s work for these ladies. Cooking healthy, delicious food without spending a fortune is their niche.
Listen to one of these podcasts when you have days of difficulty sticking to the lifestyle. Or they are great if you feel your motivation waning and need some positive inspiration.
